Kudos to the "amazing" and "friendly" staff at this "classy", "eclectic" boutique, which boasts a "wonderful" restaurant and a martini bar that's "a plus"; critics cringe over "cramped" rooms "badly in need of painting", but for some the location near major attractions like TD Banknorth Garden "trumps the negatives."

Convenient location.
Poor housekeeping, poor management follow-up to problems, tiny room.

Not bad for a one night stay, but staying a week brought out many shortcomings in staff and property.

Excellent location to Downtown Boston. Very clean and modern.
Very small room. No place to put our luggage.

We enjoyed this hotel because it was clean and the location was right Downtown in Boston.

It was clean, contemporary, had wonderfully comfortable beds and a good location.
The room sizes were a little small, but this wasn't significant to me.

I would recommend the hotel to any traveler. It is conveniently located, contemporary, up-scale, with a friendly staff. The entirety of the hotel was clean, and the beds were fantastic. I would definitely stay here again! ...read more

Location was excellent, and the facilities were good.
One outlet in room was located in bathroom. Not good for 21st century traveler with gadgets.

The Bulfinch hotel is ideal for the solitary leisure traveler – it is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the location is perfect for exploring Boston. The rooms are on the small side and might be cramped for a family stay. It is not geared for the modern business traveler – the lack of outlets in the room make it difficult to plug in/charge a cell phone, laptop, etc (the only plug in my room was located in the bathroom. Not the ideal location for working on a laptop) – but for a vacationing couple who wants to see Boston or attend an event at the Garden (which is minutes away) this is a great hotel. ...read more

Within walking distance of sightseeing destinations and transportation.
No wireless internet access, but did have wired access.

The Bulfinch was very nice. I was in town with my teenage son to visit area colleges and to sight see. The room was small, but we expected that and were not disappointed. We were only in the room to sleep, so size was really not an issue. The room was updated, clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. I do wish that the internet access was wireless, but plugging in was not a big deal. The location was good. Was within walking distance of transportation, resturants and points of interest. ...read more
